Description
We will be travelling from 26 September to 5 November 2026 and are looking for a considerate, house‑proud couple to enjoy our home in Raglan while caring for our two well‑loved dogs. Our modern home is a 15 minute walk/five minute drive to Raglan town and the beach. The upstairs area, with views to the water and hills, will be entirely yours during the stay, and includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living and dining areas.
We have two dogs – Lucky, our six‑year‑old high energy, active Jack Russell boy, and Georgie, our nine‑year‑old feisty but loveable Westie/Bichon/Schnauzer mix girl. They both love company and enjoy two walks a day (they especially love the beach but any walk is exciting for them!). We both work from home so would ideally be looking for someone who does the same, is retired or one part of a couple is around during the day.
Our mother/mother‑in‑law, Emily, lives independently in a self‑contained space downstairs and is friendly and respectful of privacy. While she can’t walk the dogs or provide overnight care, she’s happy to look after them for a period of time if you need to pop into Hamilton for the odd day trip. There’s also a local day care kennel, Floofsters, or the kennel we regularly use in Hamilton, Metro Paws, if you need to use these facilities when the need arises.
We’re hoping to find a non‑smoking couple who genuinely love dogs and make them the priority, value a well‑kept home, and would enjoy a housesit in a seaside town.
Ideally we would like to meet you beforehand and even have you to stay for a weekend so you can meet the dogs and learn about their needs before we head off in September.
