Description
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and experienced live-in cat and house sitter to look after our much-loved 18-year-old indoor cat while we are away from 16 December to 6 January.
Our cat is a sweet senior boy with a gentle personality. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he gets to know you and feels comfortable, he is an absolute angel — affectionate, loving, and enjoys companionship.
The main responsibility will be providing him with the care and attention he needs, including:
- Daily feeding and fresh water
- Giving his daily medication (Aktivait and Nupentin)
- Spending time with him and providing company
- Cleaning his litter area
- Keeping an eye on his health and wellbeing as he is an older cat
- Bringing in mail/packages and putting out bins when needed
- General care of the house while we are away
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience caring for cats, particularly senior cats
- Is comfortable and confident giving medication
- Is reliable, responsible, and caring
- Will treat our home and cat as if they were their own
- Ideally has previous house-sitting or pet-sitting experience and references
Our home is located in Whitby, Porirua, in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The house is comfortable and fully equipped, and the sitter will have use of the Wi-Fi, kitchen, TV, laundry facilities, and all normal household amenities during their stay.
There are no other pets to care for, so the focus will be on giving our senior cat plenty of love, attention, and a calm environment while we are away.
This house sit would suit someone who enjoys a peaceful home, appreciates the company of a lovely older cat, and is looking for a comfortable place to stay over the holiday period.
