You can count on Andy and I to care for your animals and your home as our own. We miss having our own pets and will treat yours with love and care. As I can work remotely I can be at home with your pets most of the time. Andy works for himself managing two companies and has flexible work hours.
Together we have many years of experience with dogs, cats, horses and small animals.
I had lurchers (greyhound/whippet/collie cross,) as a child so I am used to dogs with more than their fair share of energy and mischievousness! I have also had much-adored cats. Andy has had a dog by his side for most of his adult life.
I grew up riding and caring for horses, and as a child, guinea pigs and gerbils were some of my best friends! I have looked after a small farm with six horses, two dogs, four cats, and dozens of chickens. Some years ago I spent some time with Monty Roberts who is known for his non-violent methods of working with horses. He used to look after The Queen’s horses and is widely known as ‘The Horse Whisperer.” My interest was mostly in how he transferred his ideas and methods to work with young people, but I also learned a little about how to communicate better with horses.
I usually live in Auckland at home and have a busy counselling practice, mostly with children, young people, and families.
I am house-sitting so that I can write a book and travel a little. I am open to short or long house-sits, especially in the wider Auckland area

Kay was a wonderful house and dog sitter for us this Christmas break, I had been worried about my dog who tends to be anxious and very attached to me, but he took to Kay straight away and we had no issues at all. From the start Kay was in excellent communication with us. Kay sent me daily updates of what Finn was doing and gave him heaps of good long walks which helped him to be calmer in our absence. Kay left the house very tidy and clean with the garden and houseplants watered and clean linen on the beds. I highly recommend Kay and will certainly ask her to house and dog sit again should the occasion arise.

Fabulous house sitter. Great communication. Loved our fur babies. Did a number of thoughtful things that were outside of a standard house sit. Would definitely recommend Kay and have her back again too.

Kay is a wonderful housesitter and we highly recommend her. She kept our dog happy with long daily walks, kept us updated on how our animals were and kept the house sparkling clean and tidy. This was our first time using a professional housesitter through Kiwi Housesitters and we are delighted.
