Description
We’re looking for a lovely, reliable individual or couple to care for our two much-loved dogs and our home while we’re away on our honeymoon.
We live on a peaceful, spacious rural property in Luggate, just a short drive from beautiful Wānaka, surrounded by mountain views and the stunning scenery of Central Otago.
Meet Turbo & Zadie 🐶
Turbo is our gorgeous chocolate Lab — a big, gentle giant with a lovely nature who enjoys company, affection and being part of whatever is happening.
Zadie is our beautiful black collie cross. She’s energetic, intelligent, full of personality and always keen to be involved in the action!
They’re both very much part of our family, so finding someone who will genuinely enjoy their company and give them plenty of love and attention is our biggest priority.
Our Home 🏡
You’ll have our comfortable home, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Luggate is a wonderful base for exploring the Wānaka region, with lakes, mountains, walking tracks, wineries and charming Central Otago towns all within easy reach.
We operate two boutique accommodation options on the property. These are both blocked for bookings at present, however should you be open to earning some money during your stay, we are open to paying a fee for cleaning and attending to any guest needs.
What We’re Looking For ❤️
Ideally, we’d love a mature, responsible individual or couple who:
● Have genuine experience caring for dogs, including larger and energetic breeds.
● Enjoy spending time at home with our furry companions.
● Are happy to provide daily exercise, feeding, companionship and plenty of cuddles.
● Will treat our home and property with care and respect.
● Are reliable, tidy, trustworthy and good communicators.
● Can provide excellent references from previous house or pet sits.
● Are happy to keep us updated with the occasional photo or message while we’re away.
We’re hoping to find someone who will enjoy making themselves at home here, rather than being out sightseeing from morning until night.
The Arrangement 🌻
This is an unpaid house-sitting opportunity, with comfortable accommodation provided in exchange for caring for our dogs and home.
The option of earning money looking after our guest accommodation.
You will require your own vehicle.
We’d love to meet potential sitters beforehand, either in person or by video call, and ideally arrange an introduction to Turbo and Zadie before we leave.
