We have two dogs, a heeler and a little westie x. We are going away over christmas and looking for someone to just come and keep them company at night etc. Feed them dinner and breakfast, give them some people time. My mum lives on the property as well, but the heeler is a bit too much energy for her to look after for a full 3 weeks. They are good during the day and do have plenty of free range time outside. So if you want to head out for the day all good. The heeler gets a bit nervous and we need someone who is definately not frightened of dogs as when she gets a bit over excited she wants to do what heelers do and jump or nip to get you to do what she wants. However for the right person once she knows you, she is all good. Just a calm & Firm control. Speck does normally also go for walks with two different dog walkers, but i am not sure what the plans will be with people going away also for christmas. She is better with Woman than men, so possibly best for just a female housesitter.
Grandma is self sufficient, so honestly there is not much to check in on there, but it will be nice to just have someone on the property so she is not all by herself. We have left her on her own before, but normally for a max of about 10 days. Sometimes in that 10 days there might be some crisis on the lifestyle block. So covering all bases.
We are located 15-20 minutes out of Whangarei in Maunu. Big house with swimming pool. Nice and quiet. The two sheep don’t need anything, the two young steers in the paddocks are fine, you might have to move them to another paddock, but the gates all open to each other, the Alapacs are all good, just don’t put the boys with the girls and the chickens do what they like.
We can be flexible on the start and finish dates (cause grandma is here). We did have a sitter all sorted, but unfortunately they have had to change their christmas plans.
